We believe in fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and equality, not just during Pride Month, but every day of the year. We're excited to celebrate this month with our team and the broader community.
Now for the latest updates from our team!
Behind the Scenes at ProspectSV
Over the past few months, we've been engaging with engineers, architects, and others across the buildings industry to highlight Flow's ANSWR heat pump and its capabilities through our demonstration at FLEXLAB. Our engagement, which reached over 100 industry professionals, included 4 site tours of the demonstration site. Companies in attendance included: Johnson Barrow, Smith Group, HMW International, and more.
If you missed the tours, DMG’s training program for engineers will continue at their Office and Training Center in San Jose. Stay tuned for further updates and contact us if you would like to learn more about the site tours.
Project Update: Testing wrapped up at FLEXLAB
Earlier this month, we wrapped up testing at FLEXLAB for our California Energy Commission–funded technology demonstration. Over the past two months, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab has been gathering performance data on Flow’s ANSWR heat pump system. With testing complete, the team is now diving into data analysis—insights that we’ll turn into a case study and other resources to share across the industry, so stay tuned.
Share your energy audit data for a Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) Study Would you like to contribute retrofit cost and energy conservation measure (ECM) data to an LBNL study? This study will enhance understanding of the financial and operational impacts of energy retrofits for U.S. commercial and multifamily buildings. All data will be anonymized. If you have energy audits/data that you’re willing to share, please reach out to us to learn more, or to schedule a brief call with our team.
Sonoma Clean Power was awarded a grant from the California Energy Commission this year to implement load flexibility and load-shifting strategies in their service territory. This project will strategically target the deployment of smart devices, including batteries, thermostats, and EV chargers in disadvantaged communities (DAC) homes and businesses. ProspectSV, along with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, will support the installation of plug-in batteries and smart panels in Santa Rosa, CA.

Demonstrating COâ‚‚ Heat Pumps: Scalable Solutions for Large Buildings and Commercial Cold Storage
We presented at USGBC California's Green Building Conference last month!🎉
It was a joy to talk about our demonstration project for Flow’s ANSWR heat pump, connect with old and new project partners, and hear the latest news in building decarbonization.

GreenBuild 2025: International Conference + Expo
We're happy to announce that we will be presenting at GreenBuild in LA on November 4-7, 2025. More information will be coming soon. 👀
In this month’s Newsletter, we celebrate Rick Hutchinson, who has been on our Board of Directors for 10 years and has contributed decades of his life to environmental and social services/products.
Rick became CEO of City CarShare in 2005 and built it into the largest nonprofit carshare in the US. It was also the first and only carshare to provide services for persons with disabilities, and at the time had the largest fleet of electric vehicles.
Rick helped develop legislation to include carshare in new developments in San Francisco and Berkeley, and modified California insurance laws to encourage the use of shared use vehicles. Rick led efforts to install EV charging stations in SF, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties, ultimately helping to decrease 'vehicle miles travelled' on Bay Area roads by millions of miles.
Since leaving City CarShare in 2015, he’s been consulting with environmental organizations, and serving on numerous other nonprofit boards including SF Parks Alliance, Carshare Alliance, SPUR, and Housing Action Coalition. He also created Group MRH LLC with his daughter Maya to invest in and operate fitness and health businesses.
For us, Rick has been a resource, a mentor, and a living example of professionalism and commitment to big goals. We’re grateful for all that you do, Rick!
Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities coming soon. Please feel free to reach out to Q Rice at q.rice@prospectsv.orgwith any questions.
Cheers,
